Welcome to Kellybean – my “random bits of life” blog. This section is, oh, eight, or so, years late.
So playing off the “random” part, here are some random things about me – yes, some borrowed from the FB meme, others are new.
{1} When eating fortune cookies, I always break it half then eat the half that doesn’t have the fortune. Only when I’m finished eating that half do I read my fortune and finish off the cookie. (I’m not superstitious at all!)
{2} I ride goofy.
{3} Sparkle toes make me happy.
{4} I wish I had continued with ballet class.
{5} I don’t play a music instrument, sadly.
{6} Being a wife and mother has got to be one of the hardest jobs I’ve had – but it’s the most rewarding.
{7} Roasting a turkey – no problem. Lemon Meringue Pie – not so much.
{8} I enjoyed planning my wedding a little too much, but did it all from a pocket calendar from Papyrus.
{9} I was fluent in Spanish by the time I graduated from high school.
{10} I’ve been stopped by Mexican border patrol, asking to check my car trunk for weapons. (Who me?!)
{11} Though I love cooking, if I had my way, I’d have cereal for dinner most, if not every, night.
{12} If I could live in any other time period, it would be 19th Century England – specifically in the world of Jane Austen.
{13} As a young child, I had an imaginary playmate named Omundi, who lived under my bed.
{14} One of the first major meals I made as a married woman, I roasted the chicken upside down and it was still pink inside when I served it. My cooking has come a long way since then…
{15} I, unconsciously, collect recipes, with all intentions to try them out, but don’t.
{16} I’m glad my parents divorced; I don’t think I’d be as close to my mom’s family if they were still married.
{17} I spent 3 & 1/4 wonderful (and memorable and crazy) summers in Yosemite, but never climbed Half Dome.
{18} My first underage alcoholic beverage (that I can remember) was a screwdriver.
{19} I hope, one day, to run a B&B in the south of France.
{20} I always wanted to be a photojournalist.
{21} Though I like to be prepared, I procrastinate like no tomorrow.
{22} I lived in San Diego for 4 years and am able to count how many times I went to the beach on one hand.
{23} I dated an Olympic silver medalist…before he was an Olympic silver medalist.
{24} I’ve never lived outside of California.
{25} I LOVE making lists!
