Football season came and went. When a local team (ahem, the SF 49ers) isn’t in the running, I usually don’t bother. This year wasn’t any different, but I did TiVo the event for the commercials. I tuned in at the beginning and again (thankfully) at the end. This game. This game was worth however hundreds, thousands of $$$ people paid for tickets.<\/p>\n

I tend to be pretty supportive of local folk, that includes San Mateo’s own Serra Padre-bred Tom Brady (though he did go to a rival high school). But since he’s proved to be a (somewhat) dead-beat babby daddy<\/a> (a la Billy Crudup, dumping pregnant gf Mary Louise Parker for Claire Danes), I was throwing MY support for the NY Giants.<\/p>\n

Those last 2-3 minutes, I was commenting loudly at the tv and am pretty sure I jumped up in excitement when NY scored the winning touchdown. All with a margarita in tact. That takes talent, my friend. <\/p>\n

Of course, my daughter thought I was just plain silly.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the little dear…her new “thing” is talking on the telephone. Thankfully, we haven’t had the SFPD stop by to respond to a baby-dialed 911 call. She will take the handset hold it to her ear\/rest it on her shoulder and say “ayo?” or something that sounds like hello.<\/p>\n

Yes, her shirt is on backwards and for the record, daddy dressed her that morning \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Lucie’s been going out with a new playgroup the past couple weeks. I thought we would be able to manage, but she needed these outings as much as we did. I was a little nervous when the field manager said that they transport the dogs to and from in crates. Um, yah. Lucie doesn’t DO crates. It just doesn’t. She won’t. So, imagine my surprise when I called last week to see how she was doing – she’s adapting to the crate just fine. I was also a bit nervous, because according to her previous dog walker, she said that she didn’t integrate well due to her alpha behavior. “Oh, Lucie’s integrating wonderfully. She was doing well by the 2nd or 3rd outing.” Huh. So, hopefully this will work out for all of us for a long time. (I think the crating in the car and small group size – no more than 6 pooches – made a difference.) Keep your fingers crossed!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
