I know that we weren’t “there” or “just there”, it’s still a bit unnerving. There was a lot of construction going on at those stations in January, just wondering if it had been completed already.

Speculation here, but if we had only kept our butts out of Iraq…and I will end it there.

In other news…

I went in for a much needed haircut 2 weeks ago. I was telling Erin, stylist extraordinaire, that the baby hairs at my hairline were bugging me (because they would stand straight up), so she layered my hair and…gasp!…cut bangs! For the men out there, bangs are a big deal for women, which often involves lots of research and opinions from other women. S likes the new style and I do, too. However, it wasn’t until last week I realized that I have the “Rachel” haircut. Oh well…my hair isn’t as straight and flat anymore.

Also, needing a trim, S paid a visit to AnneMarie the next day. After a trim and some smelly (and expensive) hair “glue”, S emerged with a fauxhawk. It’s cute and very different. But S likes it, so I like it, too.

modeled here by Becks

We also paid a visit to Pottery Barn. After (almost) 5 years together and 4 different residences, we will be sleeping on the floor no more! I’m happy to say that we’ve purchased a bedroom set, after 4 years of looking. I couldn’t find the description that was in the store, but it described the Sumatra bed as a mix between Asian influences and French flea market. What better bed to suit us?! We picked up our nightstands this past weekend and the bed and dresser are being delivered this coming weekend! Yay! No more mattress/box spring on the floor!!!

Landscaping will be soon added to our resumes. Last weekend, we pulled out the fugly juniper bushes in front of the house. Sylvain removed the roots (I would have helped, but I was hosting a bridal shower for my cousin. Honestly!) and we’ve purchased the anti-weed fabric, erosion pins and bark. Lots of bark. We also bought some plants, but I’ve realized that only 2 of them will withstand the wind. So the star jasmine will have to be planted in the back soon! So the laying of the fabric, bark and planting of the plants takes place this weekend.

The joys of homeownership – there’s always something that needs to be done!

My thoughts are with the families of the tube bombing victims… S and I were at the King’s Cross / St. Pancras rail stations in January for our trips to Cambridge and Brighton, respectively.
