As you may or may not know, I love to cook and bake. So after browsing some of the foodie blogs<\/a> I read, I stumbled upon this meme (fancy, weblog word for those “how well do you know your friend-type” quiz; also French for “same”) and thought I’d share it with y’all.<\/font><\/p>\n

What is your first memory of baking\/cooking on your own?<\/b><\/p>\n

A honey mint banana bread from a Winnie the Pooh cookbook. I was told it was good, so I kept on baking them. I also tried to make some sort of cookie from the same book, but they didn’t turn out,or so I thought, and I threw them all out! Later on, I found out that they were florentine-type cookies<\/a> – so technically, they turned out just fine.<\/font><\/p>\n

Who had the most influence on your cooking?<\/b><\/p>\n

Silly question…my mom.<\/font><\/p>\n

Do you have an old photo as ‘evidence’ of an early exposure to the culinary world and would you like to share it?<\/b><\/p>\n

Don’t think so…I think I have plenty of pictures of me eating, but not cooking. Maybe I’ll post one later.<\/font><\/p>\n

Mageiricophobia – do you suffer from any cooking phobia, a dish that makes your palms sweat?<\/b><\/p>\n

It was roast turkey<\/a> – but I cooked my first turkey last year and it came out just wonderful (at least I thought so)!<\/font><\/p>\n

What would be your most valued or used kitchen gadgets and\/or what was the biggest let down?<\/b><\/p>\n

Oh lord, too many too name: microplane graters<\/a>, food processor, stand mixer, Baker’s Joy, my gargantuan All Clad pan, my Le Creuset dutch oven, apple corer, silicone mats<\/a>, and more! The biggest let down: pot with pasta insert and steamer basket – I’ve gotten many a steam burns from that thing.<\/font><\/p>\n

Name some funny or weird food combinations\/dishes you really like – and probably no one else!<\/b><\/p>\n

When I was younger, I would dip my fries into my frozen yogurt and I thought it was delish!<\/font><\/p>\n

What are the three eatables or dishes you simply don’t want to live without?<\/b><\/p>\n

Eatables: sushi, pasta, chocolate
\nDishes: mac ‘n cheese, steak au bordelaise<\/a> with frites, roast chicken with all the fixin’s<\/font><\/p>\n

Your favorite ice-cream…<\/b><\/p>\n

Ciao bella Hazelnut and Tahitian Vanilla<\/font><\/p>\n

You will probably never eat…<\/b> <\/p>\n

Tripe, oysters, brain<\/font><\/p>\n

Your own signature dish…<\/b> <\/p>\n

S would say it’s my lasagna. I guess it would be that – it’s the one thing that I make often enough for it to become a signature dish.<\/font><\/p>\n

A common ingredient you just can’t bring yourself to stomach…<\/b><\/p>\n

Cilantro. I just don’t like it.<\/font><\/p>\n
